Valve has made a major update to Artifact, the card game based on the popular game Dota 2. It should now be possible to participate in open tournaments, making it easier to play against other gamers.

The changes are explained on the card game website. In version 1.1 of the game, two new decks of cards will be available. One of the main new features, however, is the ability to participate in open tournaments. These are easily accessible tournaments that are set up automatically by the system, so users don’t have to put in much effort.

Valve promises that users can be placed in an automatically curated tournament with the push of a button. There is also a free-for-all mode where players have three hours to beat as many other players as possible. The player who wins the most matches also wins the tournament. In addition, there are a number of changes, such as better support for people who are color blind, and a large number of bugs have been fixed.

Artifact came out last month for $20. At release, there were already more than 280 cards available and 44 heroes, several of which are from Dota 2. Players build decks consisting of 40 cards, of which up to five heroes and three duplicates. The cards and heroes are divided into four suits and can only be played in a lane if there is a hero of the same suit in the lane. The effects of cards can also affect other lanes. Similar to Dota, the aim is to demolish two of the enemy’s or his Ancient’s three towers.
