MSI introduces the Optix MAG342CQRV, a curved 21: 9 monitor with a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels and a curvature of 1500R. The screen has a refresh rate of 100Hz and a va panel.

The va panel used has, according to MSI, a contrast ratio of 3000: 1 and a brightness of 250cd / m². This makes the panel not suitable for HDR display and a DisplayHDR certification is therefore missing. The panel used does have a fairly large color range, according to the specifications, the monitor can display 89.5 percent of the dci-p3 color space and 112.2 percent of the srgb color space.

The monitor supports Adaptive-Sync and has a claimed mprt of 1ms. The screen has a curvature of 1500R, which is equal to the curvature of a circle with a radius of 1.5 meters. At the back of the monitor is a ring with RGB LEDs.

MSI equips the Optix MAG342CQRV monitor with an HDMI 1.4 connection, an HDMI 2.0 port and a Displayport 1.2a connection. When the 34 “gaming monitor appears and for what price, MSI does not announce. The screen is at some stores as a preorder with a price of about six hundred euros.

The Optix MAG342CQRV is MSI’s third 34 “monitor. The two variants already available have a less curvature of 1800R.
