First B&O soundbar supports Chromecast, Airplay 2 and Dolby Atmos At

Bang & Olufsen presented its very first soundbar at an art exhibition in Venice. The rectangular BeoSound Stage supports Dolby Atmos and has built-in Chromecast and AirPlay 2 functionality. Prices start at 1500 euros.

The BeoSound Stage, available in different finishes, can be hung under the television or placed horizontally on a TV cabinet. According to the Danish manufacturer, the soundbar has eleven drivers, each of which has its own 50W amplifier.

The BeoSound Stage houses four 4″ woofers, four 1.5″ full-range drivers and three 3/4″ tweeter drivers. The full-range drivers and tweeters are positioned at an angle, which is said to contribute to the 3D audio feel. separate subwoofer, which is not necessary according to Bang & Olufsen.

The first soundbar from B&O comes with support for Dolby Atmos, for surround playback with movies. Furthermore, the BeoSound Stage has bluetooth 4.2 and dual-band Wi-Fi, as well as ingrained Chromecast technology, AirPlay 2 and the option to integrate the speaker into a BeoLink multi-room music system. Users can also choose from pre-programmed sound settings such as Music, TV, Movie and Evening.

The soundbar will be on the market in late autumn. The versions in aluminum and bronze have a suggested retail price of 1500 euros, the model with wood finished in ‘smoked oak’ changes owner for 2250 euros.
