Waze and Spotify extend mutual integration to iOS

Waze and Spotify have expanded the ability for mutual integration to iOS, after it was previously available for Android devices. This allows users of the navigation app to select music directly in Spotify, for example.

According to Waze, the feature should be available to iOS users in the coming weeks. To use it, both Spotify and Waze must have the latest updates. The functionality makes it possible, for example, to open the other from one app and select music while navigating. For security reasons, users cannot browse the music collection while driving, the company said.

The integration was already available for Android users in March. At that time it was not yet clear whether and when an iOS version would be released. A few months later, screenshots of the Spotify app appeared with an interface for use while driving. For example, the interface showed larger buttons and there was a possibility for voice control. It is not yet known when a final version will be released.
