Samsung has put details of two new monitors in its Odyssey G5 series online. It concerns the C27G55T and C32G55T, with a diagonal of 27″ and 32″. Both screens have a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels and a strong curvature of 1000R.

Except for the size the Samsung Odyssey G5 monitors the same specifications. The VA panel achieves a brightness of 250cd/m² and the contrast ratio is 2500:1. The monitors have support for AMD FreeSync Premium and Samsung states an mprt of 1ms. The screens have a displayport 1.2 and an HDMI 2.0 connection.

The Odyssey G5 monitors have a curvature of 1000R. That is equal to the curvature of a circle with a radius of 1 meter. Many curved monitors have a less strong curvature of, for example, 1500R or 1800R. The curvature is equal to that of a circle with a radius of 1.5 or 1.8 meters.

Currently, the Pricewatch only lists 1000R models from Samsung. It concerns the more expensive Odyssey G7 models with a 240Hz panel and the cheaper full-HD variants of 24″, 27″ and 32″ with a 75Hz panel. Prices of the two Odyssey G5 monitors have not yet been announced, but Based on the specifications, it will fall between the G7 series and T series, but it is not yet known when the new monitors will be released.
