Driver Update: Razer BoomSlang 1000/2000 3.0.01

Spread the love

For Razer’s ‘ultimate’ gamers mice, the BoomSlang 1000 and BoomSlang 2000, new Windows XP drivers have been released with 3.0.01 as version number. The development of these drivers has been a long time coming and recently they have finally been declared stable. We found the following piece of text in the release notes:

Make sure you uninstall any old Razer drivers loaded, reboot, make sure the new 2500 Razer works without our driver, re-install. Make sure you are running the install as administrator.

The 3.0 drivers (v3.0.01) should be considered for use only on XP. It has been installed on all supported versions of windows, with ps/2 & USB where appropriate, and tested completely. We recommend USB connection as PS/2 will no longer be supported. We recommend a dedicated USB port, and if the mouse is disconnected, when it is reconnected it should be connected to the same USB port.

Important:
If someone tries to install this over an old driver, it will tell the user to uninstall the old driver first. Most testing was with a clean install on WindowsXP.
