Microsoft has upgraded the emojis in Windows 11, making them less flat and giving them a 3D effect. The new emojis are currently only included in the Insider build of the operating system.

The upgrade from Windows 11 to COLRv1 makes it possible to display emojis with, among other things, gradients. This allows them to have shadow effects, making them look less flat. The new emojis are in Insider build 25905, says Microsoft. Not all apps and browsers support the new emojis and it is unknown when the feature will be in the stable version of the operating system.

An AI hub will be available in the Microsoft Store, containing a collection of apps powered by artificial intelligence. That hub not only has apps from Microsoft, but also from other developers. The AI Hub will be a tab on the left sidebar of the Store. Microsoft had already announced the arrival of Hub during its developer conference Build.
