Asus announces three gaming monitors with high refresh rates and FreeSync 2 support in its ROG Strix series. The top model is a 43″ variant with 4k resolution, a 120Hz panel and HDR display according to the DisplayHDR 600 standard.

The 43″ monitor is called Asus ROG Strix XG438Q in full. Asus also presents the ROG Strix XG49VQ, a 49″ monitor with a 32:9 ratio and the ROG Strix XG32VQR, a 32″ model with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. These two models also support HDR playback, but have DisplayHDR 400 certification.

All three gaming monitors have FreeSync 2 support and are based on a VA panel with a 4ms response time. The 43″ screen has a 120Hz panel and the other two variants go up to 144Hz. According to the specifications, the brightness of all models is 450cd/m2, but the peak brightness of the 43″ model is higher in HDR display, because that monitor conforms to the DisplayHDR 600 standard.

Asus will show the three monitors at the CES trade show in Las Vegas this week. The XG49VQ and XG32VQR will be released at the end of January. The XG438Q will be available in the spring. The manufacturer has not yet announced recommended prices.
