Streaming service Twitch announced new features at its TwitchCon event for streamers to use in their channel. Among them are raids, for example, with which they can send their viewers to another channel.

Streamers should also be able to control who is allowed to conduct such a raid on their channel, Twitch reports. Other new features are achievements and so-called rituals. The first feature allows streamers to track key milestones of their channel, such as whether they are already eligible for an affiliate program. The “rituals” are ways to welcome new viewers, the streaming service explains.

Furthermore, the platform offers its users a better overview of their channel and comes with the possibility to gift others a subscription to a particular channel for the duration of 1 month. The service also released some statistics. For example, the introduction of its Prime service ensured that streamers received 50 percent more subscribers.

The affiliate program launched in April, which allows more streamers to monetize their channel, is said to have 110,000 participants. Also with the current announcement, Twitch is expanding its monetization opportunities as streamers earn from viewer spend within extensions. These can, for example, consist of a specific overlay.
