Software Update: Simple PHP Blog 0.3.3b

Spread the love

Simple PHP Blog as the name implies is a simple blogger written in PHP. The big advantage of this piece of software is that no database is used to store the data. The data is stored in a simple text file on an environment with PHP 4 or higher. Note that write permissions must also be set on this environment. Version 0.3.3b has recently been released and is succeeding version 0.3.3 at breakneck speed. The release notes look like this:

Version 0.3.3b

Minor update to 0.3.3. The only changes are in the ‘sb_function.php’ file. (So, if you already downloaded 0.3.3, download this release and replace the ‘sb_functions.php’ file.)

This fixes:

  • Incorrect Entry and Comment sorting.
  • Also fixes the unix timestamp appearing in the Comments area.
  • Sorry for two releases in one day.

    Version 0.3.3

I just release a new version. This one sports a brand new Options page which lets you customize your Date and Time display. Including 12 or 24 hour clock. And correct Month/Day names for your locale/language. Important features for you international users.

    two other things:

  • Currently the blog only works on PHP > 4.1 (due to the use of superglobals.) I’m trying to support versions
  • I’ve re-worded the error message that you get when you first run SPPHPBlog. It used to tell you to change permissions on some folders. However, somewhere along the way I started dynamically creating the folders. So the instructions were telling you to change the permissions on folders which didn’t exist yet.
