Software Update: Gnome 2.6.1

The team behind the GNOME desktop environment (GNU Network Object Model Environment) has released a new point release of the 2.6 branch. Version 2.6.1 again contains a lot of bug fixes and new functions to make it more pleasant to use. The next announcement is done on the Gnome mailing list, which also contains the changelog:

This point release from the stable branch of the GNOME Desktop and Developer Platform contains a lot of bug fixes and improvements over the previously released 2.6.0 version. Our maintainers, bugfixers, translators and general contributors have been hard at work for the last couple of months bringing more polish, stability and performance to your favorite desktop environment.
