These 4 details about iOS 27 leaked just before the Apple event.
Apple won’t unveil iOS 27 until tonight , but four new details about the major iPhone update have leaked again this weekend. These are the details we’re talking about!
iOS 27 is being unveiled tonight
Tonight is finally the night: at 7:00 PM, the Apple event of the year, WWDC 2026, begins. Not only will iOS 27 be unveiled, but also major updates such as macOS 27 , iPadOS 27 , watchOS 27 , and more. In short: more than enough reasons to follow our WWDC live blog tonight !
Even though we still have to be patient for a little while before the event officially kicks off, quite a few details about iOS 27 emerged again this weekend via Apple analyst Mark Gurman . In other words: spoiler alert!
Notifications will be different
The first two details that have emerged concern notifications. They will receive a new animation, and you will soon have to activate them with a new gesture.
The animation makes it look as if the notifications come flying in from the left side of the screen. Currently, they still appear from the center of the screen. And although you can still access notifications by swiping down from the top of the screen, the revamped Siri is coming to this spot . From now on, to access your notifications, you will have to swipe down from the clock.
Longer battery life
Thanks to optimizations in iOS 27, the entire operating system becomes slightly lighter for your iPhone. This results in longer battery life, according to Gurman. It is not yet known whether Apple will actually provide figures on how many extra hours you get, but the difference should be noticeable.
Siri 2.0 may get a queue
By far the biggest innovation in iOS 27 will be the new version of Siri, which has been completely rebuilt based on Google Gemini technology . However, the new AI Siri will not be immediately available to everyone: Gurman expects a waiting list in which the new Siri is gradually rolled out to everyone.
