Software Update: FreeKiSS 0.3

FreeKiSS is an open source program that streams audio and video files to DVD/DivX players with a network option, such as the KiSS DP-50x and DP-150x models. More information about this program can be found in the KiSS DivX players topic on our GoT. Version 0.3 has just been released and it comes with the following changelog:

Added:

  • Bug #1025960: Selection of subtitle paths
  • Request #958570: Automatically convert non-supported images to JPEG
  • Request #1101470: Add an index to songs inside a playlist
  • Added a tiny firewall feature to provide more security
  • Added HTTP server to serve KML links (firmware 2.8.8+)
  • Selection of debug level
  • Added option to automatically resize images (fixes flicker)
  • Popupmenu in the share-lists for easier manipulation of those lists
  • Added player ID and filename to the “Connected Players” tab

Fixed:

  • Bug #1028532: Multiple network interface cards are working correctly now
  • Bug #1089672: Samba shares inside a playlist are supported now
  • Samba shares are now working again in a shared path
  • Huge speedup for image-loading
  • Crash when closing FreeKiSS while streaming a file
  • Allow multiple directories to be dragged at once

Changed:

  • Much better (cleaner) code to see if a player is still connected
  • Cleaned up the merge code
  • Removed playlist setting (defaulted to True)
