Software update: DeDRMS 1.0

Jon Johansen has released the open source program DeDRMS 1.0 via his weblog. Compiling the program can crack DRM protection in music files downloaded from Apple iTunes. The program is developed in Monodevelop and consists of 210 lines of C# code. In this tarball three different source codes can be found that can be used by Linux and Windows users. In addition, from here the platform-independent source code be brought down. In the readme.txt of the first download we find the following text:

DeDRMS requires that you already have the user key file(s) for your files. The user key file(s) can be generated by playing your files with the VideoLAN Client [1][2]†

The DRMS ​​does not remove the UserID, name and email address. The purpose of DeDRMS is to enable Fair Use, not facilitate copyright infringement.[break]See also our news item about DeDRMS.
