Gemini Media Watermark
Within Gemini you can choose all kinds of options, such as your avatar, activity, personal intelligence, user limits, gems, the theme, your subscriptions, and so on. A new option is Media Watermark and that allows you to turn it off or on. It should be clear: if you turn this on, you will get a watermark on all media that is generated. Think of images and videos, for example. If you turn it off, there will be no watermark on your images, music or videos that you have made with Gemini. So it is not an option that allows you to remove the watermark on previously generated images. It is purely a matter of ensuring that newly created content does not receive a watermark. It is not the case that Google will ensure that the fact that something has been created with AI is completely erased. You can still track AI because the content always retains SynthID watermarks, just like C2PA metadata. This is always embedded in your creations to make it clear that this was made by computers, not humans. According to Google, this watermark problem was one of the 10 biggest annoyances with Gemini. It has not been made clear what other annoyances with Google’s AI chatbot are. Gemini is being rolled out on more and more devices. In addition to being mentioned on the Google smart home page, a big change is coming in September for billions of devices. Android smartphones lose the Google Assistant, because it has to make way for Gemini. There are still places where Gemini is present, but after this year there will be very few.
