Software update: Caliber 1.14

Like almost every Friday, a new version of Caliber has been released this time as well. Caliber is an open source and cross platform ebook management program. Among other things, it can look up all relevant information and cover images, and convert e-books to make them suitable for the various types of e-readers. It can also convert newspapers, magazines and news articles based on RSS feeds into e-book format, and books can be purchased from well-known web stores. In version 1.14 the following changes and improvements have been made:

New Features

• Edit metadata dialog: Add the ability to trim covers manually, if automatic trimming is not satisfactory. Close tickets: 1256054
• You can now show any metadata field below the covers in the cover grid view, not just title. To change the displayed field go to Preferences->Look & Feel->Cover Grid.
• Allow searching for plugins by name in the install new plugins dialog
• Kobo driver: Allow sending kepubs to older kobo devices as well, also add support for firmware 3.1. Close tickets: 1257972, 1257143
• Allow viewer plugins to customize the viewer’s user interface

Bug Fixes

• Table of Contents Editor: Handle generating ToC from headings if the first heading level in the document is not h1 or the document skips some intermediate heading levels
• Update the metadata download and Get Books plugins for ozon.ru
• Fix sending by email not working on computers with non-ascii hostnames. Close tickets: 1256549
• Wireless driver: Fix launching programs from within caliber causing the wireless driver port to remain in use even after caliber is shutdown. Close tickets: 1256198
