Intel is rumored to have added Tom Petersen to its Game Experience Team. Petersen worked at Nvidia for fifteen years and was director of technical marketing there before he left.

Tom Petersen was a veteran at Nvidia. The engineer worked for the company for 15 years and was responsible for overclocking APIs, GPU boost and testing software, among other things. As chief executive for technical marketing, he was the point of contact for the media for technical questions.

Prior to Nvidia, Petersen was a CPU designer and worked at IBM and Motorola. The rumor that he has left for Intel comes from GamersNexus. The site relies on sources within Intel and Nvidia. Petersen would join the Game Experience Team and be awarded the title of Intel Fellow.

If the message is correct, it is yet another power that Intel gets from a GPU company. Raja Koduri of AMD’s Radeon Group and Chris Hook, of AMD’s marketing team, have previously left for Intel. The chip company is working on GPUs for separate video cards, for consumers and data centers. The company has released some details about its plans, which it is working on on the name The Odyssey. The GPU should be ready in 2020.
