BioWare and EA will release Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in the summer of next year ‘at the earliest’. Insiders report this to Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb, who often shares correct information about upcoming EA games at an early stage. The game may be pushed back further.

Sources say that BioWare initially used an internal release date of September 2023, Grubb says an episode of the Game Mess Mornings podcast. The intended release date was later moved to March 2024 by BioWare, but will now be released in the summer of 2024 ‘at the earliest’. Grubb reports that it is likely that the game will be pushed back even further to the end of next year or perhaps early 2025.

Developer BioWare announced earlier this week that it is laying off seven percent of its staff. In total there were about fifty people, including developers who worked on Dragon Age. BioWare says the layoffs should make the team more agile and focused.

Dreadwolf has been in development for years. BioWare announced the fourth game in the Dragon Age franchise in 2018, and shared a new teaser two years later. Last year it was announced that the game would be subtitled Dreadwolf. BioWare and EA have not yet shared an official release date. According to Grubb, a release will not occur until next summer at the earliest. Grubb often shares correct information about Electronic Arts games. For example, before the announcement, he reported that EA Motive was working on a Dead Space remake.
