Rumor: Apple will launch MacBook with OLED screen in 2024

Apple may want to release a new MacBook with an OLED screen in 2024. That says analyst Ross Young, who cites sources from Apple’s supply chain. The laptop is likely to be a MacBook Air, although that has not yet been confirmed.

According to a report from Ross Young of the analyst firm Display Supply Chain Consultants, it is “increasingly likely” that Apple will release a laptop with a 13.3″ OLED screen in 2024, writes 9to5Mac† According to the analyst, this is expected to be a MacBook Air, although it could also be released as a MacBook, MacBook Pro or a new product category. Apple would also come out with a new iPad Pro 11″ with an OLED screen and a new iPad Pro 12.9″ in 2024.

Young further writes that the iPad Pro and MacBook a so-called tandem stack which should provide higher brightness, longer life and less power consumption. It would also concern ltpo displays with a variable refresh rate.

Apple recently announced a new MacBook Air with M2-soc and renewed design, but there have been rumors about new MacBook models for some time. For example, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company will release a MacBook Air with a larger 15″ screen next year. The company is also said to be working on a 12″ laptop; it may be a MacBook without a suffix in the model name.
