Apple may want to release a new MacBook with an OLED screen in 2024. That says analyst Ross Young, who relies on sources from Apple’s supply chain. Presumably the laptop will be a MacBook Air, although that has not yet been confirmed.

According to a report from Ross Young of analyst firm Display Supply Chain Consultants, it is “increasingly likely” that Apple will release a laptop with a 13.3″ OLED screen in 2024, writes 9to5Mac. According to the analyst, that is expected to be a MacBook Air, although it could also be released as a MacBook, MacBook Pro or a new product category. Apple would also release a new iPad Pro 11″ with OLED screen and a new iPad Pro 12.9″ in 2024.

Young further writes that the iPad Pro and MacBook a so-called tandem stack which should ensure higher brightness, better lifespan and less power consumption. It would also concern ltpo displays with a variable refresh rate.

Apple recently announced a new MacBook Air with M2 soc and updated design, but rumors about new MacBook models have been circulating for some time. For example, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company will release a MacBook Air with a larger 15-inch screen next year. The company is also said to be working on a 12-inch laptop; it may become a MacBook without a suffix in the model name.
