Epic Games has taken the iOS version of Fortnite out of beta and made it available to all users. The game was previously available by invitation only. The studio does not give any news about the Android version yet.

The final arrival of the iOS version was announced on Twitter announced by Epic Games. The release comes pretty soon after the beta was released, less than a month ago. People could sign up for that test version and then they could send invitations to others.

That limitation is now gone and all owners of a compatible iOS device can now download and play Fortnite Battle Royale. The game works on the iPhone SE, 6S, 7, 8 and X. The game is also playable on the iPad Mini 4, Air 2, 2017 and Pro. While Epic hasn’t mentioned the new iPad announced at the end of March yet, the game will most likely work on that as well.

Fortnite Battle Royale for iOS is based on the PC and console versions of the game and allows cross-play between the different platforms. The game is free to play and contains microtransactions for cosmetic items.
