Software maker Blackmagic has announced the release of video editing program DaVinci Resolve for iPads. The program will be released before the end of the year, the company says.

Blackmagic does not say which iPad models exactly work with the software. Project files are compatible with DaVinci Resolve for desktops, so they are also interchangeable. Video files are imported through iPad internal storage, iCloud, and devices connected to an iPad via USB-C.

The Cloud function, which is used to collaborate on a video with multiple users, is also included in the iPad version. In addition, the app works with stylus Apple Pencil and multitouch, claims Blackmagic. Apple already mentioned the arrival of DaVinci Resolve in its iPad Pro announcement Tuesday. The app will be available for free, the paid Studio extension is available as an in-app purchase.
