ASUS introduces 32″ monitor with 170Hz refresh rate and DisplayHDR 400
ASUS has introduced a new monitor in its TUF Gaming series. The VG32AQL1A has an IPS panel with a quad-HD resolution and a refresh rate of 170Hz. The monitor also receives DisplayHDR 400 certification.
ASUS speaks on its website of a 32″ display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. The company advertises a GTG response time of 1ms and a refresh rate of 170Hz. It is a 144Hz panel with an optional factory overclock to 170Hz. The peak brightness is 400cd. /m² with HDR images, without HDR the brightness is a maximum of 350cd/m².
According to ASUS, the monitor can display 99 percent of the DCI-P3 color space and will receive support for the ELMB technique for backlight strobing. According to the company, this should help against motion blur and works in combination with a variable refresh rate. The monitor supports FreeSync Premium and also receives G-Sync Compatible certification.
The TUF Gaming VG32AQL1A has two HDMI 2.0 connections and two DisplayPort 1.2 connectors. ASUS also equips the display with 2W stereo speakers, a 3.5mm jack for audio and a USB hub with two USB 3.0 ports.
The monitor can be rotated, tilted and height adjusted via the included stand, although users can also use their own monitor arm via a 100mm VESA mount. The monitor is 716mm wide, 240mm deep and a maximum of 565mm high. The screen weighs 8.6kg including the stand and 6.2kg without.
The VG32AQL1A has quietly appeared on the ASUS website, with no official announcement. The suggested retail price is unknown. It is also still unknown when the screen will appear in stores.
