X adds feature for Blue subscribers to hide blue check mark
X, formerly Twitter, has added a feature that allows paid Blue subscribers to hide their blue check mark.
If users enable the option in their account settings, the check mark will be hidden on their profile and in posts, X writes in an update on its support page. However, the social media platform does say that the check mark may still appear ‘in some places’ and that using ‘some Blue features’ may still reveal that the user is subscribed to the service. The latter applies, for example, to writing posts with more than 280 characters, as this is only possible for Blue subscribers.
In addition, certain features may not be available to users who have hidden their check mark, the former Twitter warns. The company provides no further explanation. The ability for users to hide their check mark, was in discovered in March by developer and reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi.
