Acer has updated its Windows Mixed Reality headset, allowing users to pair the lenses and headband, among other things. In addition, the audio playback is integrated in the headrest.

The new Acer Windows Mixed Reality headset is called the OJO 500. Because the lenses and headbands are interchangeable, they are easy to clean, according to the manufacturer. This makes the headset more suitable for use by several people. The OJO 500 is available with a hard and soft headband and the latter can be washed in the washing machine.

The front screen part of the headset can be folded up, so that users do not have to take it off completely for a view of reality. This part with the lenses can be adjusted with a wheel, so that the correct distance to the eyes can be obtained with the help of a smartphone app. Furthermore, a headset is integrated.

The display is provided by a 2.89″ LCD with a resolution of 2880×1440 pixels. The refresh rate is 90Hz and there is inside-out tracking; these specifications correspond to Acer’s first Windows Mixed Reality headset. The OJO 500 will be released in November for 499 euros.
