WhatsApp will soon have a new moderation feature for group conversations. Admins of such group chats will soon be able to delete messages from all group members. This is evident from the latest beta version of the chat service for Android.

WABetaInfo noticed the new feature in the WhatsApp beta 2.22.1.1. The website tested the feature by creating a group conversation with multiple administrators. Then the admins could delete messages from each other. When a post is deleted by a group admin, users will see “this was deleted by an admin.”

The feature is still under development and has not yet been made available to all WhatsApp users. It is unknown when that will happen, writes WABetaInfo.

The website also reports that in the latest WhatsApp Desktop beta, users have seven days and eight hours to delete their own messages afterwards. Currently, users have more than an hour to do this. Initially, WhatsApp had planned to remove this date limit completely, but this doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.
