The Japanese hardware maker Vaio has presented its first smartphone with Windows 10. It is a midrange model with a 5.5″ screen, metal housing and support for Continuum. The device will probably not be released in Europe.

The Vaio Biz Phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617, with eight Cortex A53 processor cores at 1.5GHz and an Adreno 405 GPU. The Biz Phone, which as the name suggests is aimed at business users, has 3GB of lpddr3 memory and 16GB of storage.

The screen is a 5.5″ LCD with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Vaio has made a design with an aluminum back. The device measures approximately 15.6×7.7cm. Microsoft recently made Continuum suitable for use with Snapdragon 617-socs, where the function to use the smartphone as a desktop was previously only possible with a high-end Snapdragon 808 and 810.

Vaio is known as the brand name of Sony, but has been going through life as an independent manufacturer for some time. It doesn’t look like the Biz Phone will appear in Europe. The device will go on sale in Japan for 50,000 yen, currently converted around 380 euros.
