Software Update: WSUS Offline Update 8.9

Version 8.9 of WSUS Offline Update has been released. This program makes it possible to provide Windows computers that have no or a slow internet connection with the latest updates from Microsoft. Simply checking one or more operating systems, office suites and languages ​​will download all available updates from Microsoft’s ftp server. When the updates are in, an ISO file is optionally made per language or per operating system. Other computers can then be updated quickly and easily via a CD or DVD. WSUS Offline Update has support for Windows XP and later, and Office 2003 and later. The changelog for this release looks like this:

• AutoIt script compiler updated to version 3.3.10.2
• Static download URLs for aria2 download utility updated to v. 1.18.3
• Updated static download URL for untrusted/revoked root certificates (rvkroots.exe/kb291750)
• Update scan prerequisite for Windows XP and Server 2003 (x86) systems (latest IEx cumulative security update) will now be dynamically determined
• UpdateGenerator script now supports variable ini files given as a command line parameter
• MSI packages and custom software will now be installed before Microsoft’s updates
• Linux download script DownloadUpdates.sh now also supports Windows 8.1 and Server 2012 R2
• Fix: Download part missed Security Updates kb2850057 and kb2850064 for Office 2013
• Fix: Update scan prerequisite installation restricted to Windows XP and Server 2003 (x86) systems
• Fix: Windows XP (x86) SP3 prerequisite update for non-Intel processors (kb953356) was erroneously attempted to be installed on systems without SP2
• Fix: Downloading of updated CPP and MSE installation packages could fail after an incomplete previous run
• Fix: Download URLs for C++ 2012 Runtime Libraries Update 4 adjusted to English versions
• Fix: DoUpdate.cmd script missed escape characters for log file output
• Fix: Excluded obsolete/superseded cumulative security updates for Internet Explorer under Windows Vista and Server 2003/2008 (x86/x64)
• Fix: Linux download script DownloadUpdates.sh stored .NET installation files in invalid path
