Software update: TeamViewer 10.0 build 40642

An update for TeamViewer version 10.0 has been released. This program allows remote management of other computers via a secure VPN connection. TeamViewer is free for non-commercial use and is being developed for Windows, Linux, OS X, iOS and Android. It is not necessary for the side that is being taken over to install the program, although you can of course do so. In version 10 we find performance improvements, there is support for 4k resolutions and there is now also a BlackBerry version. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

  • Files can now be sent within the chat window
  • Smaller minimum size for the chat window
  • When a user reads a message on one device, it is now automatically marked as read on all other devices
  • Improved “New message” workflow in chat
  • New intro window at the start of online meetings
  • QuickConnect button only transfers the chosen window
  • It is now possible to switch between front and rear camera on a Surface Pro 3
  • Other minor improvements and fixes

ITbrain:

  • The name of the currently used Anti-Malware policy is now displayed in the Anti-Malware status dialog
  • Improved cleaning behavior when threats are found within archives
  • Security Center integration now also works with Windows Vista (SP1 or above)
  • Definition update now also works with proxies that use basic authentication
