SoftPerfect released a new version of Network Scanner on Thursday. This program is a simple IP, NetBIOS and SNMP scanner. It does not need to be installed to do its job, so it can be used quickly and easily to see who and what is connected to the network. The program is multi-threaded and can see network shares, mac addresses, open ports and logged in users, among other things. The download is less than a megabyte in size and the program is completely free to use. The changelog for this release looks like this:
Changes in version 4.4.7:
- Fixed doubling bookmarks when loading an external configuration file.
- Fixed inability to launch 64-bit applications in %SystemRoot% such as mstsc.exe (remote desktop client).
- Added a tool for creating batch files to run a command against multiple computers. This can be used to update files or remote registry, configure services, etc.
