Software Update: Shareaza 2.5.0.0

The Shareaza Development Team has released version 2.5.0.0 of its eponymous p2p file sharing program. Shareaza allows files to be shared across Edonkey2000, Gnutella, Gnutella2, and Bittorrent networks. This update comes a little over a year after version 2.4.0.0 and contains mostly bug fixes. Since the version was released on October 31, it starts up with a special Halloween skin that fortunately can be easily turned off. The release notes for version 2.5.0.0 look like this:

After many months of bug fixes, 2.5.0.0 has finally been released. While we were planning for an earlier release, time was not on our side. The chat tab should now be working at the level it should have been in 2.4.0.0, and we hope to have it fully bug free before too long.

Also, happy Halloween to those celebrating it this year. For those of you who do not want the Halloween skin after today, you can remove it by deselecting “Halloween” under the Skin tab of the Settings window.
