Software Update: qBittorrent 3.1.12

A new version of qBittorrent has been released. This open source torrent client has versions for Windows, Linux, OS X and FreeBSD, and shows no ads. The program is with Qt4 developed and based on libtorrent (raster bar) and boost† The program is the brainchild of French student Christophe Dumez, who has been working on it since March 2006. Today it is maintained by the community. The release notes for version 3.1.12 look like this:

This is merely an excuse for a new and correct build for OSX users. The previous versions didn’t work on older hardware. In the meantime I backported some important fixes for Windows which resulted in crashes too.

• OSX: Fix build to work with older machines.
• WINDOWS: Fix automatic Python download.
• WINDOWS: Fix crashes due to memory corruption and improve Python registry searching.
