Software Update: Opera 10.51 Build 3315 Beta RC3
The Opera Desktop team has already released several new builds of the Opera web browser after the release of version 10.50 and the third release candidate of version 10.51 became available on Thursday. Version 10.50 includes a newer version of Carakan, the javascript engine that is part of the layout engine Presto 2.5. This version of Carakan is a lot faster than its predecessors. Furthermore, 10.50 works better with Windows 7 and the Opera logo in the top left corner has been made into a menu, which gives access to all important functions in the browser. Version 10.51 contains no new features, but fixes several minor flaws:
Opera 10.51 RC3 for Windows
This is the third release candidate for Opera 10.51 for Windows. It fixes the following issues:
- Fixed CARAKAN-1187 (Crash when scrolling page)
- Fixed CARAKAN-1191 (Date pickers on several travel sites fail)
Opera 10.51 RC2 for Windows
A few small stability fixes have been added, and we fixed a problem with Chinese text being rotated for some users.
Opera 10.51 RC1 for Windows
This is the first 10.51 Release Candidate for Windows. The changes since the previous build are mostly stability fixes, and there’s some work on improving Carakan memory usage compared to Futhark. We have also fixed a minor issue related to performance.
Changelog:
- Several Carakan crash fixes
- Fixed CORE-27660 (Improve Carakan memory usage compared to Futhark)
- Fixed ALIEN-892 (Fix unite 404 issues due to zip loader not adding all folders)
