Software update: OpenELEC 3.1.7

Spread the love

Version 3.1.7 of the Open Embedded Linux Entertainment Center has been released, a test version of the 3.2 series. This Linux distribution is based on XBMC Media Center and can turn a computer into a full-fledged HTPC. OpenELEC is easy to install, maintain and use, as well as being small and lightning fast. In addition to the default download there are special versions for AMD’s Fusion and Nvidia’s ION platform, Apple TV, Xtreamer Ultra and Raspberry Pi. The changelog for version 3.1.7 shows the following changes and improvements:

OpenELEC 3.1.7 released

This release includes some bug fixes and improvements. Besides the usual bugfixes and package updates we also added some more backports from XBMC Gotham for RaspberryPi (again many thanks to ‘Popcornmix for the help and support here) as well as “Dual Audio output” for RaspberryPi.

We also fixed the broken Installer, heating issues on some Intel based systems, harddisk and optical disk detection and mount (which should solve issues with mounting/using Bluray disks too) .

You should only upgrade from OpenELEC-3.0 to OpenELEC 3.1.7 for testing purposes.
