Software update: Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal 5.0.149.4

A new version of Anti-Virus Personal can be found on the FTP server of Kaspersky Labs. The version number is 5.0.149.4 and can be pulled down from here. The program protects against ad, spy and malware, scans regular and compressed files and incoming email, and Kaspersky updates virus definitions eight times a day. The following release notes are included with this release:

Enhancements:

• Possibility of external adjustment of links to web-pages, where you can purchase and extend your license key through the Internet.

Known problems:

• When OnDemand Scanner is scanning messages containing RAR archives, an application error occurs on the Exchange server.
• The application is incompatible with the WinMagic application.
• When scanning extremely large files, the application “freezes” if someone tries to unload it from memory.
• OAS can occur when suspicious or warning objects are placed manually to the quarantine. The disinfected dialog box for the quarantined object is displayed.
• There are some non-localized messages (only in English) in the MailChecker module.
• The application does not prompt for password when scanning protected archives placed to the quarantine by the user.
• The MailChecker component works incorrectly with the Magic Mail Monitor application if the mail is collected at startup: message headers cannot be downloaded from the mail server (improper use of the POP3 protocol by the Magic Mail Monitor application).
