Software update: Paint Shop Pro 9 beta

Spread the love

Jasc Software is hard at work on the next generation of its graphics editing program Paint Shop Pro. About a year ago, users were asked what they most wanted to see in the next version. Half wanted more features, while the other half wanted an easier-to-use program. Since one couldn’t do one without excluding the other, it was decided to make two different versions. The first has Paint Shop Pro 9 and picks up where version 8 left off. The other version is called Paint Shop Pro Studio and is intended for the home-garden-and-kitchen user who occasionally wants to play around with digital photos. A beta version of both programs has now been released and the following is written about this on the website of Jasc Software:

It’s not easy pleasing all of the people all of the time, but we’re trying. Last year we polled Paint Shop Pro users and asked them what they wanted in future versions. 47% of users said they wanted more tools, more options, more power, 48% of users wanted a Paint Shop Pro that was easier to use. Well, here you go. Two versions of Paint Shop Pro available in Public Beta; Paint Shop Pro 9: for power-hungry imaginations that want advanced, precision tools they can control and Paint Shop Pro Studio: for those who want to have fun with their photos without the hassle of learning advanced power tools.
