Software update: GIMPShop .1 beta

Spread the love

On Plastic Bugs, Scott Moschella is developing GIMPshop. GIMPshop is an adaptation of the open source image editing program The GIMP, which makes that program very similar to Adobe Photoshop. Scott did this out of frustration because he was used to Photoshop and couldn’t get used to the different names and locations of functions in The GIMP’s menu. GIMPshop is built for Mac OX X 10.3 and only requires Apple’s X11 to be installed. This can be obtained for free from Apple’s website downloaded

A version has now been published on Codemills.com for Linuxsince the source code is of course available. GIMPshop is still in an early stage of development, so not completely free of bugs yet. on plastic bugs some screenshots can be found where the differences and similarities between The GIMP, Photoshop and GIMPshop are clearly visible.
