Software update: EasyBCD 2.4

NeoSmart Technologies has released version 2.4 of EasyBCD. With this program the boot configuration data, or the bootloader, can be modified. For example, it can be used to multibootsetup to be able to choose between different versions of Windows, or Windows in combination with Linux, when the PC starts up. The program is also available in a single-boot setup usable† It can also be used to change settings of the BCD, or to make a backup. As of version 2.1, companies are expected to purchase a license, but for use in a private environment it is still free† The changelog for this release looks like this:

New:

  • [EBCD-568] – Add autocompletion to all path textboxes
  • [EBCD-571] – Add Ability to turn on/off hypervisor state for entries
  • [EBCD-565] – Verify destination of “change boot partition” is at least 75 MiB

Changes:

  • [EBCD-561] – Include Bulgarian in BCD/BOOTMGR local list
  • [EBCD-567] – Include XML validity checks as part of build process
  • [EBCD-573] – Custom SWF high-DPI support in EasyBCD
  • [EBCD-574] – High-DPI support in EasyBCD setup
  • [EBCD-564] – Do not repeatedly apply existing settings when modifying entry attribute

Fixed:

  • [EBCD-562] – bcdboot parameters in RepairBootDrive call
  • [EBCD-566] – /NLT crashes on malformed XML translation files
  • [EBCD-578] – partitions with 64-bit extensions are not supported
  • [EBCD-564] – Detect <= Windows 7 and disable metro bootloader to prevent hidden boot menu
  • [EBCD-572] – Statusbar height shrinks when blank under Windows 10
