Software Update: Drive Fitness Test 4.03

Spread the love

A new version of Drive Fitness Test is available on the Hitachi Global Storage support site. This program was once developed by IBM as a diagnostics tool for its hard drives and at the time sold to Hitachi along with the entire hard drive division. With the program, the hard disk can be extensively tested to see if it is still OK. Both (S-)ATA and SCSI drives from Hitachi and IBM can be tested. Testing drives from other brands is also possible, but the results will be less reliable. The changelog for this release looks like this:

4.03 changes include:

  • Updated to support Controllers with SATA to PATA bridge chip implementations
