Signify comes with security cameras in the Philips Hue line
Signify introduces security cameras to the Philips Hue line of products. According to the manufacturer, Philips Hue Secure products combine lighting and security, including with a spotlight.
There will be three versions of the camera, Signify says. A wired version that works with the same cabling as Hue outdoor lighting, a battery-powered version and a spotlight that can display light in any desired color. There will also be a contact sensor to know whether windows and doors open and to notify users.
The security cameras can record images in up to 1080p resolution. There are also functions such as being able to talk back by integrating a microphone and speaker. To control the Hue Secure products, there will be a Security Center section in the Philips Hue app. For example, Activity zones can be set in the app and a timeline of events can be viewed.
Without a subscription, you can only view live images and talk back. Looking back is only possible with a subscription of 40 euros per year to look back for 30 days with a single camera and 100 euros per year for multiple cameras and a 60-day archive.
