Rumor: AMD postpones planned Ryzen 7000 release date by two weeks

AMD may have postponed the release date for its Ryzen 7000 processors to September 27. The company is said to have previously communicated a September 15 release to partners. The same date was also previously mentioned by motherboard manufacturer MSI.

Reports of a possible postponement of Ryzen 7000 have appeared earlier, also writes VideoCardz. AMD is said to have recently started informing partners that it will release its processors about two weeks later than expected. This information is now endorsed by MyDrivers, which cites its own sources for confirming the postponement. The tech website mentions a specific date of September 27.

Interestingly enough, on the same date as Intel’s Innovation Event. Intel is then expected to announce its first Raptor Lake desktop processors, which would then hit the market in October. With that, AMD would put its processors on sale on the day Intel only announces its CPUs. AMD’s Ryzen 7000 announcement is still said to be scheduled for late August.

Previously, the Ryzen 7000 processors were expected to hit the market on September 15. AMD would have communicated that date to partner companies during an internal meeting. Motherboard manufacturer MSI previously confirmed that its X670 motherboards, which are intended for Ryzen 7000, will was to be released on September 15th.

AMD previously shared details about its upcoming Ryzen 7000 CPUs. The processors are based on a new Zen 4 architecture and are produced on TSMC’s N5 process. The CPUs will receive support for DDR5 and PCIe 5.0, with boost clocks above 5GHz. AMD is expected to first come with four processors, again with a maximum of 16 cores and 32 threads.
