Razer has released a new version of its Ornata keyboard. The Ornata V2 has hybrid “mechanical membrane switches,” according to Razer. The keyboard also has separate media keys and a scroll wheel. The suggested retail price is 110 euros.

The Razer Ornata V2 is, as the name suggests, the second version of Razer’s Ornata keyboard. This keyboard features switches that Razer calls “hybrid mecha-membrane.” These switches are equipped with a rubber dome and therefore function the same as those of traditional membrane keyboards.

According to Razer, the switches combine the “soft typing feel” of a rubber dome keyboard with tactile feedback with a click, much like a mechanical switch. There are more manufacturers who say that such membrane keyboards combine with a ‘mechanical feel’, including Cooler Master and Roccat.

The Ornata V2 is equipped with separate media keys, while the current variant from 2016 does not have them. The keyboard also has a scroll wheel. The Ornata V2 comes with a wrist rest, just like the current model. The Synapse 3 software allows keys to be programmed with macros and key combinations. The keyboard is equipped with RGB LEDs, which can be set individually with the Razer software.

The new keyboard has a suggested retail price of 110 euros and is available from now on. The product is available on Razer’s website.
