Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be released in the same period as PlayStation 5

Sony will release Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart in the same timeframe as the PlayStation 5 release. An exact date is not yet known, as the console release date has not yet been announced. The game may appear at the same time as the console.

Sony first showed Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart in June in its presentation of games for the PlayStation 5. At the time, it was not yet said when the game would be released. Sony has now put a new video online, with more than seven minutes of gameplay footage. This is a longer version of previously released images.

During the Opening Night Live event of the virtual gamescom fair, developer Insomniac Games told that the game will be released in the same launch window as the PlayStation 5. This could make the platformer a launch title of the new console.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is being developed by Sony’s own studio Insomniac Games and can therefore serve well as a showcase for the new console. This is also evident from the released trailers and gameplay images, which show how players transport themselves at high speed through different worlds. The game has no loading screens, the developers confirm. This is possible thanks to the fast SSD in the PlayStation 5. The game also uses ray tracing.
