Platform game developer Celeste releases a free 3D spin-off

Maddy Makes Games, the developer behind indie platformer Celeste, has released Celeste 64: Fragments of the Mountain. It is a short 3D spin-off of the platform game, in honor of its sixth anniversary. The game can be downloaded for free for Windows and Linux.

Celeste 64: Fragments of the Mountain is available for free via Itch.io. The game was developed in about a week for the six-year anniversary of Celeste, which was released on January 25, 2018. The new game is a game in which players once again try to climb a mountain as the main character Madeline. Unlike the original, the free spin-off is a 3D platformer. The game features several easter eggs and a new soundtrack which is based on music from the original and is inspired by Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. Maddy Makes Games’ next full game, Earthblade, is scheduled for release later this year.
