Konami has signed a deal with UEFA for the official addition of the European Football Championship 2020 to the eFootball PES 2020 game. The European Championship will come to the football game in the second quarter of next year via a free DLC.

According to Konami, the deal with UEFA will also see 50 national football teams in the game, even before the expansion for the Euro 2020 tournament comes out. It means that the teams with their official names, uniforms and logos are present in the game. Details on the Euro 2020 DLC will be announced next year.

Konami and UEFA will also jointly organize the EUFA eEURO 2020 tournament, an e-sports tournament around the European Football Championship. That competition will be played with eFootball PES 2020 and national teams can qualify online. The top sixteen teams will advance to an event in London, which will be held between the semi-finals and the final of the European Championship.

Konami is investing heavily in esports this year with its Pro Evolution Soccer game. The name of the game has therefore also been changed to eFootball PES 2020, to emphasize that. The soccer game will be released on September 10 on Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
