OPPO has announced the A18, a low-range smartphone with a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC and a 5000mAh battery. The device is similar in many ways to its predecessor, the A17, but has a stronger CPU and a brighter screen.

The OPPO A18 is a low-range model with roughly the same design as the previous model: the A17. The A18 has a matte black back and a thin casing of 8.16 mm thick. There is a fingerprint scanner on the side of the device. The device once again has a 6.56″ display with the same resolution of 1612×720 pixels as the previous model, but the refresh rate has increased to 90Hz. The maximum brightness has also increased: from 600 to 720cd/m². The display provides 96 percent of the DCI-P3 color spectrum.

The device also has a faster SoC: the MediaTek Helio G85. In addition, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage capacity are added. The latter can be expanded with a microSD card. An additional 4GB of storage memory can be used to create more virtual RAM. The phone has a 5000mAh battery, but OPPO does not say how quickly the device can charge.

The phone also has an 8-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel bokeh camera, but OPPO mentions few details. There is a 5-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The phone is for sale immediately and costs 169 euros.
