Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee coming to Android and iOS
The game Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee, which first came out on Xbox in 2001, is now also playable on Android and iOS devices. It was the first 3D game in the series and has received improved graphics for the mobile release.
Last week developer Oddworld Inhabitants Inc already released the iOS app, now the third-person action game is also available for Android devices. To play the game, at least a smartphone or tablet with a 1.2GHz dual-core soc and 1GB of RAM is required. Chips from Rockchip, Broadcom and Amlogic are not supported. The iOS version works on devices with iOS 7.0 or later.
Compared to the original release on Xbox, the game has improved graphics and better sound, the makers say. In the Android app there is support for hid controllers. If you play the game on an Nvidia Shield, you will be presented with an optimized version with 4x msaa.
Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee is available to download for $4.99 from the iTunes App Store. The Android variant costs 5.64 euros in the Google Play Store. In 2009, a collection of four Oddworld games was released on Steam. Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath, also an Xbox game from 2005, previously appeared for Android and iOS.
