Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 will be available at the end of January for a suggested retail price of USD 249
Nvidia will release the GeForce RTX 3050 on January 27. The entry-level video card in the RTX 30 series will receive 8GB of GDDR6 memory and should be available for prices starting at $249. Nvidia is also teasing the introduction of the RTX 3090 Ti later this month.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 has a GPU with 2560-CUDA cores and a boost clock of up to 1.78GHz. The video card also has a 128-bit memory bus and a TGP of 130W. Like other RTX cards, the video card has hardware support for ray tracing and DLSS. It is the first ‘budget video card’ from Nvidia with such features.
No 2050 version appeared in the RTX 20 series and the older GTX 1650 and GTX 1050 do not have the necessary technology for hardware acceleration of those features. The RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti have been around for laptops since last May, but until now, the RTX 3060 was the lowest-ranking RTX 30 graphics card for desktops.
Nvidia will not release a Founders Edition of the RTX 3050, but says video card makers will release their own versions starting January 27, with suggested retail prices starting at $249. Whether the RTX 3050 cards will actually be on sale for that price remains to be seen. The RTX 3060 was introduced with a suggested retail price of 349 euros and it is currently in the Pricewatch for at least 749 euros.
AMD also introduced a new video card in the same price range on Tuesday evening. The Radeon RX 6500 XT will be released on January 19th for a suggested retail price of $199. There is also an RX 6400, but AMD only supplies it to OEMs.

GeForce RTX 3090 Ti with 21Gbit/s memory
Nvidia also confirmed the arrival of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti in its CES keynote. According to the manufacturer, the video card will receive 24GB of Gddr6x memory with a speed of 21Gbit/s and a computing power of 40 teraflops. That is consistent with previous rumours. The regular RTX 3090 hits 36 teraflops, which means that the Ti version is about 11 percent faster on paper. Later this month, Nvidia will announce more details about the RTX 3090 Ti. It is not yet clear when the new top model will be released and what the price will be.
