Newsletter Shows Star Wars Battlefront II Is Getting VR Content For PSVR
Star Wars Battlefront II is likely to get one or more missions playable in virtual reality. EA has not announced anything about this yet, but Sony placed a logo in a PlayStation newsletter stating that the game is compatible with the PSVR.
Just because Star Wars Battlefront II is compatible with the PlayStation VR headset doesn’t mean the entire game is playable in virtual reality. For the first part, a special VR mission appeared as a separate part and that may be the case again with the successor.
It is unknown whether any VR content will also be available for the PC version, for users of glasses such as the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. The VR mission of the first part can only be played on the PlayStation VR headset.
Publisher Electronic Arts has not officially announced anything about a VR mission in Star Wars Battlefront II. Users of the NeoGaf forum noted that the PlayStation newsletter shows that the game is compatible with Sony’s VR headset.
The game, which unlike its predecessor does get a single player campaign, was announced in April. EA will announce more about the game during E3, which takes place in June. Presumably, the VR content will also be revealed.
