Mobile Proximus customer consumes more than 1GB per month on average

The average amount of data that mobile Proximus customers use every month has increased to more than 1GB. Of the total amount of mobile data, 69 percent now comes from 4G, according to the quarterly figures.

At the end of the fourth quarter of 2016, the average amount of mobile data that all Proximus customers combined monthly was still 952MB, but in the past quarter this increased to an average of more than 1GB. The company’s 4G customers, which now number more than 2 million, consumed more than 1.3GB on average.

Proximus was able to add 44,000 new customers with mobile subscriptions in the past quarter, but saw the number of prepaid users decrease by 64,000. In addition, 27,000 customers for TV services were added and the provider gained 24,000 new internet subscribers.

The total turnover of Proximus increased compared to last year by 0.7 percent to 1.44 billion euros. Profit increased by 6.2 percent to 119 million euros.
